Please Observe Fireworks Rules


FIREWORKS 2021

Lathrup Village residents are reminded that fireworks are ONLY permitted on and around days that are National Holidays.

For the July 4th holiday, the Michigan Fireworks Safety Act allows for fireworks ONLY from
June 29th to July 5th (when the 4th falls on a Friday or Saturday). 
 
NOTE: For 2021, Monday, July 5th, fireworks are NOT permitted.

Our local ordinance also requires that these fireworks are NOT to be ignited, discharged or used AFTER 12 MIDNIGHT. A minor many not possess consumer fireworks. Fireworks are NOT permitted on public property, including any city parks.

Everyone is reminded to please be respectful and courteous to your neighbors and only enjoy your fireworks during the permitted dates and times. Also, please be mindful that loud noises may be very frightening to children, pets, veterans and those with PTSD.

Violators should be reported immediately to the Police Department Non-Emergency Number at 248.354.1010. Please include the address and description, if possible.

A violation is a civil infraction, punishable by a fine of $1,000.
